THIS IS MAH NEW HAMMIE! She's called "Izuru" ("menacing crane" LOL), and she's a one month old Djungarian Hamster.
SHE HAS AN AT-AT ON HER SHOULDER. How fucking cool is that?
What about my Syrian? Unfortunately, she was a weak hammie and couldn't handle the stress of changing homes. ):
And that's why I haven't said a single word on dA lately.
But looking at the huge empty bin cage and thinking about all the effort I put into making it, all the stuff I bought, and all the research I did, I thought it was a waste to discard them until it becomes spring, I decided to get another hamster. I'm really picky about Syrian colours/patterns so to make getting one simple, I decided to get a Djungarian instead. I heard they are tougher against the cold than Syrians and are less prone to wet tail (=fatal diarrhea).
BUT I'M SCARED OF DJUNGARIANS. LOL I can handle mice, rats, and Syrian hamsters with no problem but Djungarians are scary! The one I used to have (Korosuke コロ助) was rabid so I'm traumatised. Haha.
I got Izuru on the 31st and she seems to have adjusted to her home now (phew - I was so paranoid about it since Tuna died). She doesn't seem scared of me nor my hand when I put it in the cage to add in more food. It's just me that needs to get used to her. I freak out (no kidding) when Izuru comes to sniff my hand. XDDDD
Izuru eats Syrian hamster-sized food and spins an adult Syrian hamster-sized hamster wheel LIKE A BAWSS. I hope she becomes macho like the Raikage. LOL
BTW Since my Syrian died, I decided that hamsters' given names aren't complete until they survive 1 week. Like an evolving Pokemon. LOL So my Syrian -who was supposed to be called "Tsunade"- didn't last a week so her name is "Tuna". Izuru was called "Ethan" before she survived and evolved into her current name. Why Ethan? Because we pronounce it "iisan" in Japanese, and that would be a nickname for "Izuru". Why spelt in English? (イーサン instead of イーさん) IT'S FOR TEH LULZ. XD
And lastly, "Why image so small?" Coz it was made for Yahoo Answers that's why.
That is so badass!! I love the name she evolved into! I hope this hammie does well. ^w^
And sorry to hear what happened to Tuna. My sister's hamster Lola had actually died the first Monday after Christmas. v.v It was just so unexpected because the vet had checked her out that day and said she was doing fine. It was really upsetting. My sister buried her wrapped in cloth, in a shoebox with the Christmas treats she didnt get to eat and her paper tubes. I don't know if she'll get another hamster anytime soon.
Aw what a cutie!! >w< Sorry to hear about Tuna ;w; Hamsters are such delicate things in that way. I had four hamsters over my childhood, only one of them lived to be over one year old. They just kept getting illnesses I hope Izuru does well! :3 I love how you did loads of research too, that're really sweet ^^ You're obviously very passionate about these little guys <3
And sorry to hear what happened to Tuna.
